A Message from the PTA

Welcome to the first edition of “Katy GT Academy PTA Newsletter”. Thanks to all of you who made it to our first PTA meeting! It was a great turnout.  We covered a lot in our first night, including the role of the PTA, the academic programs, school facilities, lunch, and concerns related to children’s behavior at school. At the end, there was a much better understanding between parents and KGTA. The PTA is always looking for new ideas to help make our children’s school a better learning facility. We hope that you will consider attending the PTA monthly meeting and sharing your ideas.

As a new school in Katy, KGTA has done a great time to create learning and having fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Now KGTA needs your involvement to help the children enjoy school more, achieve more, and reduce behavior problems at the same time.

At the end of the summer, each child will bring home a picture CD Covering all the fun he/she had in KGTA.

Teenager sibling is welcome to join too. The volunteer hours can be filled in KGTA.

PROJECT WE CARE – “BOOK CLUB”

is fundamental to our children’s future success.  We need parents help to start a “Book Club” at KGTA. The “Book Club” mission is to provide easy access to children's books at school and to inspire reading to children. Any book donation is welcome. Please go through your library and send your used children's books to school. Parents are welcome to join our classroom and read to kids.

KGTA Summer Celebration Party

Join us the week of August 11^th to celebrate what our children have achieved in KGTA before we go back to school. We need your help to make this fun event happen. There is so much to be done, please be on the look out for Volunteer Sign Ups coming out soon!!!

KGTA ACADEMIC APPROACH

Katy GT Academy has always addressed the importance of education and learning. As requested by the parents, KGTA will provide teacher profiles, including background, experience, and contact information to parents. The best way to communicate is through email. Individual parent teacher conference can be scheduled upon request. Curriculum report and teaching outlines will be sent out for parent’s review periodically.

KGTA would like to emphasize that the school is summer school, which follows the same standard and rules of KISD. Please remind your children to follow the school rules.

Our First PTA Meeting was a great turn out!!!
